About Tres Hermanas Vineyard and Winery
Tres Hermanas Vineyard and Winery was founded in 2001 when Marvin and Paulette Teixeira planted a small vineyard on their working cattle ranch along the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. The name, Spanish for Three Sisters, honors their daughters Stacey, Tracey and Marcey, and the label still pictures the ranch's historic barn stamped with the JT cattle brand that belonged to Marvin's father.
After a first harvest in 2003, the tasting room opened in 2007 under winemaker Mark Horvath, who cut his teeth alongside Master Sommelier Emmanuel Kemiji and later worked the cellar at Carmenet on Moon Mountain before becoming assistant winemaker for Bryan Babcock in the Santa Ynez Valley. The estate Syrah shares the lineup with fruit from the Sta. Rita Hills, Los Alamos and other Santa Barbara County vineyards, open daily from 10am to 5pm, with the family still running cattle on the same ranch today.
