About Truett Hurst Winery

Truett-Hurst Winery is one of the most genuinely farm-like winery experiences in Dry Creek Valley. The estate was founded in 2012 by the Hurst family on a holistic biodynamic vineyard and working farm — producing excellent wines alongside raising goats, sheep, chickens, and other heritage animals that are integral to the biodynamic ecosystem.

The eco-estate tour is one of the most memorable experiences on the Dry Creek Road wine corridor: a walk through the biodynamic farm, meeting the livestock, learning about cover crops and compost, and understanding how the farming philosophy shapes the wine. It's genuinely educational and one of the few winery experiences where children are as engaged as adults.

VML Winery shares the Truett-Hurst estate — specializing in single-vineyard and barrel-select Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that complement the Truett-Hurst Zinfandel and Rhône varietal program.

Truett Hurst WineryTruett Hurst Winery has one of wine country's most compelling recent comeback stories.
Founded in 2007Founded in 2007 by Phil and Sylvia Hurst as a biodynamic Dry Creek Valley estate with 26 acres of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and heritage varietals alongside Dry Creek itself, the winery became publicly traded — a genuinely unusual move for a small Sonoma wine estate — before the board sold the beloved Dry Creek property in early 2024.
In March 2024,In March 2024, Phil and Sylvia Hurst reclaimed the brand in partnership with vintner Ken Wilson, returning Truett Hurst to family ownership and local values.
