Twisted Vine Winery at 18596 North Cherry Road takes its name from the gnarled, head-pruned trunks of old Lodi Zinfandel vines, the characteristic sculptural form that decades of traditional farming create in vines that have been pruned the same way year after year since the late 19th century. Founded in 2005, the winery celebrates this old-vine heritage by sourcing Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Tempranillo from some of the Lodi AVA's most historically significant vineyard blocks, where vines planted by earlier generations of San Joaquin Valley farmers still produce small quantities of intensely flavored fruit.
The North Cherry Road estate sits in the heart of Lodi's prime Zinfandel country, where sandy loam soils, warm days, and cool Delta breezes from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta create the signature Lodi growing environment. Old-vine Zinfandel is the flagship, rich, bramble-fruited, and spiced with the black pepper and dried herb character that head-trained, low-yielding Lodi vines reliably deliver. The Petite Sirah program draws from similarly established vineyard sources, producing the deep-colored, tannic, and age-worthy wines that the variety achieves at its best in warm California appellations.
Walk-ins are welcome daily from 11am to 5pm with a $10 tasting fee, one of the most accessible serious wine experiences in the Lodi AVA.
