Vinum Cellars takes its name from the Latin vinum — wine, the most fundamental word for the fermented grape product in the classical language that underlies all Western wine culture. The vinum naming is the most direct possible classical declaration: this is wine, this is the thing the Romans called vinum, and this estate produces it. The Lodi boutique focuses on Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc — two Loire Valley varieties that are less common in California wine country but perfectly suited to the Lodi Delta's agricultural character.
