Vista Del Rey is Sunday-only and proudly analog: Dave and Carol King's mom-and-pop estate on Drake Road pours celebrated Barbera, Zinfandel and the Zin-Bera blend among rock gardens and pistachio trees, with house-made Zinfandel-marionberry vinaigrette and spice rubs on the side and no website on principle.
The king's view of the name is real, and so is the conversation. One day a week, worth planning for.
