About Vista Del Rey Vineyards
Vista Del Rey Vineyards is named for the view — vista del rey, Spanish for 'view of the king,' declaring the panoramic perspective from the Bryant Canyon Road estate's El Pomar District ridge. The view is real: from the elevated estate, the Santa Lucia Range to the west, the Salinas Valley to the east, and the broad Paso Robles wine country spread below in every direction.
The estate produces Zinfandel, Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon from calcareous limestone El Pomar District vineyards with the Spanish naming's regal aspiration: wines worthy of the royal view. The estate's 1997 establishment gives the vines more than two decades of root depth in the calcareous substrate, producing wines with the concentration and mineral complexity that older vines deliver.
The appointment-only format allows visits that genuinely take in the vista — time to stand with the wines in the landscape that produced them.
