About Wellington Cellars

Wellington Cellars is the Sonoma Valley's most warmly welcoming and family-spirited small estate. Peter Wellington, who has been producing small-lot Sonoma Valley wines since 1994 from the Glen Ellen estate, has built a weekend tasting experience that visitors describe with a consistency that is remarkable for a small producer: warm, personal, unpretentious, and entirely focused on ensuring that every visitor leaves with a genuine connection to the wine and the winemaker.

The wine program focuses on the Sonoma Valley's most expressive red varieties, Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, from sourced and estate Sonoma County vineyards. Peter's particular passion for Syrah, expressed in multiple single-vineyard expressions from the coolest and warmest Sonoma County sites, has built a devoted following among wine lovers who appreciate what the variety can achieve in California's most diverse Mediterranean-climate wine corridor.

The Dunbar Road tasting room with picnic grounds and valley views, honest pricing at $15 per tasting, and the family-friendly weekend walk-in format make Wellington Cellars one of the most consistently recommended small-producer discoveries in the Kenwood/Glen Ellen wine corridor.
