About Zialena

Zialena is a fourth-generation, family-owned estate winery in the heart of Alexander Valley, seated among 120 acres of estate vineyards near Geyserville, minutes from Healdsburg. The Mazzoni family's roots here run deep: great-grandfather Giuseppe Mazzoni emigrated from Italy in 1897, joined the Italian Swiss Colony as a grape farmer and winemaker, and made wine through Prohibition and beyond; the winery is named for beloved Zia Lena (Aunt Lena), remembered for her warm hospitality and famous round ravioli.

Siblings Mark and Lisa Mazzoni founded Zialena in 2011 and built a modern facility around open-top concrete fermenters, marrying old-world technique with a striking contemporary estate. Everything is estate-grown and made on site: concrete-fermented Zinfandel from the prized 1905 Mazzoni Clone, Cabernet Sauvignon, concrete-egg Sauvignon Blanc, Sangiovese rose and more. The family was inducted into the Sonoma County Winegrowers' Century Club in 2025 for 100-plus years of farming.

Immersive, welcoming tastings range from patio flights to vineyard tours beneath towering oaks, dog-friendly throughout.
