About Abreu Vineyards
Abreu Vineyards is one of Napa Valley's most revered cult Cabernet Sauvignon producers, founded by legendary viticulturist David Abreu. For decades, Abreu has managed some of the valley's most celebrated vineyard sites, and his own wines draw from this unparalleled knowledge of Napa Valley terroir. The portfolio includes single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from Madrona Ranch, Thorevilos, Las Posadas, and Capella, each reflecting a distinct mountain terroir.
David Abreu's viticultural expertise is the backbone of these wines. His understanding of soil, rootstock, clonal selection, and canopy management is considered among the finest in California. Winemaking is equally meticulous, with Brad Grimes crafting wines of extraordinary concentration, balance, and ageability. Fermentation occurs in small lots, and aging takes place in predominantly new French oak. The wines are released with several years of bottle age and command some of the highest prices in Napa Valley.
Access to Abreu Vineyards is extremely limited and primarily through the mailing list. Tastings are not generally available to the public, but those fortunate enough to visit by special invitation can expect an unparalleled deep dive into some of Napa Valley's most exceptional mountain vineyards and wines. For collectors and serious students of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Abreu represents the pinnacle of the art form.
