About Alta Nova Cellars

Alta Nova Cellars takes its name from a bilingual declaration — alta (high, in Spanish) and nova (new, in Italian and Latin) — together meaning 'a new high' or 'high and new.' The Spring Mountain District boutique applies this aspiration to Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley's volcanic mountain appellations: wine that aims to reach a new elevation in what mountain terrain Cabernet can achieve.

The estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain District and Howell Mountain vineyard sources — the two most structurally elevated Napa Valley mountain appellations — with the new-high aspiration the bilingual name declares. Each vintage is an attempt to surpass what the previous vintage achieved from the same extraordinary mountain terrain.
