About Amuse Bouche Winery
Amuse Bouche was created in 2002 by winemaker Heidi Barrett and partner John Schwartz as a Pomerol-inspired venture built around Merlot. The flagship, the 2023 blends 92 percent Merlot with 8 percent Cabernet Franc, is drawn from the eastern Rutherford Hills, and Barrett, a UC Davis fermentation science graduate raised in a Napa Valley winemaking family, has guided every vintage since the beginning.
Art is inseparable from the wine here. Each vintage carries an original label painting, the 2023 features Jennifer Garant's 'Days of Wine and Roses', issued as 700 hand-signed, numbered lithographs printed in France on Rives paper. The portfolio has grown to include the Vin Perdu red blend, the Prêt à Boire rosé, and Richard G. Peterson bottlings, all sold by allocation and direct order.
Every vintage of Heidi Barrett's Pomerol-styled flagship comes with a hand-signed, numbered lithograph printed in France on Rives paper.
