About Aonair Winery & Caves
Grant Long Jr. launched Aonair in 2008 after years of winemaking and cellar work around Napa Valley, and today runs the brand from a 17-acre estate on Greenfield Road near Lake Hennessey, east of St. Helena. Seven acres are planted to vines, and an underground cave dug into the steep hillside handles production of roughly 6,000 cases a year.
The reds, Cabernet Sauvignon, proprietary blends, Grenache, and Merlot, draw on rocky volcanic vineyards across Napa's mountain appellations, from Atlas Peak and Diamond Mountain to Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder, and Spring Mountain. Long hand-waxes his red-wine bottles and keeps distribution deliberately closed: there is no retail or restaurant placement, and every bottle goes to allocation members or visitors to the estate.
