About Eisele Vineyard
The Calistoga hillside vineyard now known as Eisele Vineyard has been farmed since the 1880s and gained fame after Milt and Barbara Eisele purchased it in 1969, supplying fruit to pioneering producers like Ridge Vineyards, Joseph Phelps and Robert Mondavi. Bart and Daphne Araujo bought the property in 1990 and built the acclaimed Araujo Estate label there, farming it organically from 1998 and biodynamically from 2000, while continuing to credit the fruit as 'Eisele Vineyard' on every bottle.
In 2013 the estate was sold to Artemis Domaines, the wine group controlled by French businessman François Pinault, who also owns Bordeaux first-growth Château Latour. In 2016 Artemis retired the Araujo Estate brand and rebranded the property Eisele Vineyard (Domaine Eisele), the name it farms and bottles under today. The winery operates as a private, allocation-only estate producing roughly 5,000 cases a year.
