About Baldacci Family Vineyards
Tom and Brenda Baldacci purchased the Stags Leap District property in 1998, a site first planted to grapes in 1888. Tom, the grandson of Italian immigrants who made their own wine, built a winery on the land rather than selling the fruit. Their son Michael Baldacci has served as winemaker since 2018, after collaborating with the winemaking team from 2012.
The family farms three estate vineyards totaling about 63 acres: the Stags Leap District home ranch (29 acres, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon), Honey B Vineyard in Carneros (23 acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Gewürztraminer), and Stella Knight Vineyard in Calistoga (17 acres of Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon), producing 12,000-15,000 cases a year under CCOF organic certification.
