About Bodegas Paso Robles

Bodegas Paso Robles brings a distinctly Spanish winemaking philosophy to the Paso Robles wine region, producing Tempranillo and Grenache-based wines that draw direct inspiration from the Iberian peninsula's great wine traditions while embracing the warmth and generosity that Paso Robles' Mediterranean climate delivers. Founded in 2014, the winery is part of a growing movement within Paso Robles that recognizes the region's natural affinity for Spanish and Rhône varieties over the Bordeaux grapes that dominate many California appellations.

Tempranillo is the flagship, showing the earthy, leather-and-cherry character that Spain's national grape achieves when grown in warm, dry conditions similar to Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Paso Robles' limestone-influenced soils and significant diurnal temperature swings produce a Tempranillo with genuine structure and aging potential — wines that reward cellaring of five to ten years while remaining approachable in youth. The Grenache program draws from established Westside vineyard sources.

Walk-ins are welcome daily from 11am to 5pm with a $15 tasting fee, making Bodegas Paso one of the most accessible and distinctive tasting experiences in the downtown Paso Robles area. The Spanish-influenced approach to winemaking and hospitality creates an atmosphere that feels genuinely different from the Napa-influenced estates that dominate many California wine regions.

"Bodegas Paso Robles proves that Spanish varieties have found a genuine home in Paso — the warm, dry climate and limestone soils that Tempranillo loves are here in abundance."

For visitors who appreciate Spanish wine traditions and want to explore Paso Robles' Iberian connection, Bodegas Paso offers an authentic and quality-driven tasting experience at a price point that welcomes serious exploration without financial commitment.

Bodegas Paso RoblesBodegas Paso Robles takes its name from the Spanish bodega — the wine cellar, the winery, the storage room for wine and olive oil that is the foundational unit of Iberian wine culture.
The bodega namingThe bodega naming places the estate squarely in the Spanish-heritage tradition that the Paso Robles place name itself evokes: Paso de Robles (Pass of the Oaks) is a Spanish colonial name, and the bodega naming honors that Iberian linguistic heritage by producing Tempranillo and Garnacha — the grape varieties of Spain's most celebrated wine regions — in the California Central Coast terroir.
