About Bully Hill Vineyards
Bully Hill Vineyards sits on the south end of Keuka Lake in Hammondsport, at the heart of the Finger Lakes, and is one of the region's most beloved and unabashedly fun wineries. The Taylor family has grown grapes and made wine in the area since 1878, and Bully Hill itself was founded in 1958 by Greyton H. Taylor and his son, the irrepressible Walter S. Taylor, whose legendary battle over the use of the family name became Finger Lakes folklore.
The philosophy here is wine without pretense: more than 40 affordably priced bottlings, from dry to sweet, meant to be opened and enjoyed with friends rather than saved for bragging rights. Best-sellers include the sweet, grapey Sweet Walter Red and the winery's signature Love My Goat Red, a crowd-pleasing off-dry blend.
Beyond the tasting bar, the lakeside property is a full day out: a full-service restaurant with a smoker and seasonal local menu, a gift shop, the FLX Wine Museum, and the Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery, plus panoramic views over Keuka Lake. The energetic, entertaining tastings keep visitors coming back.
