About Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery
Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery is the birthplace of the vinifera revolution in the Eastern United States. In 1958, Ukrainian-born viticulturist Dr. Konstantin Frank planted the first European grape vines on the southwestern slopes of Keuka Lake, defying conventional wisdom that said vinifera could never survive New York winters. That act of determination forever changed the course of American winemaking. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership under the leadership of Frederick and Meaghan Frank, the estate holds the oldest Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir vines in the Eastern United States and consistently earns 90-plus-point scores from major publications.
The winery has been named a Top 100 Winery in the World by Wine and Spirits Magazine multiple times, and its 1886 Tastings were voted USA Today's Top Winery Tour in 2022 and 2023. The portfolio spans acclaimed Rieslings in every style from bone-dry to late harvest, complex Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Lemberger, and traditional-method sparkling wines. Visitors can choose from complimentary tastings, the intimate 1962 Reserve Tasting, a rooftop Keuka Lake terrace experience, or the immersive 1886 Food and Wine pairing. Eugenia's Garden offers wines by the glass with seasonal provisions in an outdoor setting overlooking the historic vineyards and the lake below.
