About Calla Lily Estate & Winery
Calla Lily Estate & Winery occupies a 20-acre vineyard at roughly 800 feet elevation on the eastern side of Howell Mountain in Pope Valley, on ground first planted in 1995. The property was originally developed as Cleavage Creek Winery before sitting vacant for several years; Hong Kong-based partners Anthony Fung, Andy Chui, and Dr. S.W. Cheung purchased it and released the first Calla Lily vintage in 2011, moving to estate-only fruit by 2014.
Fourth-generation winemaker Cary Gott, whose résumé includes Sterling Vineyards, Mumm Napa, and Seagram Classics, consults on the wines, which draw from estate blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot planted on Bressa-Dibble sandstone and shale soils. Annual production runs around 3,000 cases, sold largely into Asian export markets.
