About Calmére Estate Winery

Calmére Estate Winery occupied a nearly 100-acre property in Carneros that was originally Acacia Winery, founded in 1979 and later owned by Treasury Wine Estates. Sisters Lisa and Ariana Peju, daughters of Tony and Herta Peju, bought the site in October 2016, initially naming it Liana Estates before a trademark dispute prompted the change to Calmére, French for 'calm' and 'sea.'

Under Peju family ownership the estate farmed close to 74 planted acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Merlot, producing about 7,000 cases a year alongside novelty offerings like yoga sessions and barn sunset tastings. In October 2025 the Pejus sold the property, with its roughly 40,000-square-foot production facility and rare 250,000-gallon permit, to a new investor group; the tasting room has not reopened to the public since.

The estate's production permit allows sourcing up to 62.5% of its fruit from outside Napa County, an unusually flexible entitlement for a Carneros winery.
