About Continuum Estate
Continuum Estate was founded in 2005 by Tim Mondavi and his sister Marcia, continuing their family's Napa Valley winemaking legacy after the Robert Mondavi Winery brand was sold in 2004. The estate acquired its Pritchard Hill site in 2008 by combining two existing vineyards, Versant and Cloudview, and opened its winery in time for the 2013 harvest.
The 172-acre property (about 62 acres planted) sits at 1,300-1,600 feet elevation on iron-rich, reddish hillside soils, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot across 45 distinct vineyard blocks. Grapes are hand-harvested and hand-sorted, fermented in oak or concrete, aged 20-22 months in French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered; the estate made no wine at all in 2020 due to Glass Fire smoke taint.
The estate releases a single proprietary red each year, Continuum, from vines grown at 1,300-1,600 feet on Pritchard Hill.
