Copper Bear is a boutique Calistoga winery crafting bold Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel from the warm northern end of Napa Valley. The label takes its name from the copper-hued grizzly that once roamed the surrounding mountains, and the wines share that spirit, powerful, untamed, and memorable. Production is small, ensuring meticulous care at every stage from vineyard to bottle.
Calistoga's warm climate and volcanic soils are ideal for the bold, ripe style that defines Copper Bear. Cabernet Sauvignon shows generous dark fruit with firm tannins and mineral depth, while Zinfandel brings spice, bramble, and warmth. Both wines are aged in French and American oak to develop complexity. The winemaking is direct and unfussy, great fruit, careful vinification, and time in barrel.
