About Dalla Valle Vineyards
Dalla Valle Vineyards was founded in 1986 by Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle, who had come to Napa Valley intending to build a resort before discovering their Oakville hillside land's potential for premium grapes. The estate's flagship wine, Maya, a Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc blend first released in 1988 and named for the couple's daughter, became the second American wine ever to score a perfect 100 points from the Wine Advocate.
After Gustav's death in 1995, Naoko continued running the winery alone before her daughter Maya Dalla Valle, trained at Cornell and Bordeaux's Sciences Agro and with experience at Petrus and Château Latour, took over as winemaker in 2021. The 20-acre estate, farmed organically and biodynamically, sits on a rocky, iron-rich bench above Oakville alongside neighbors like Screaming Eagle.
