About Dunites Wine Co.

Dunites Wine Co. takes its name from the 1930s colony of artists, poets and free thinkers who settled in the dunes of the San Luis Obispo coast, and the wines carry that independent streak. Husband-and-wife team Rachel and Tyler Eck focus on cool-climate, organically farmed SLO Coast vineyards planted on uplifted seafloor and ancient sand dunes.

The lineup runs from Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay to Albarino, Grenache and pet-nat sparkling, made with traditional, low-intervention techniques in small lots. The tasting room opened in late 2024 in a restored 1900 building on quiet Garden Street, a few steps off Higuera in downtown San Luis Obispo, and welcomes both walk-ins and reservations.

Cool-climate SLO Coast wines with a bohemian namesake, poured in a restored 1900 storefront downtown.
