About Edna Valley Vineyard

Edna Valley Vineyard was founded in 1980 as a partnership built around the Niven family's pioneering Paragon Vineyard, one of the plantings that established the Edna Valley as serious Chardonnay country in the 1970s. The winery grew into one of the appellation's largest and best-known producers, its cool-climate Chardonnay becoming a national shelf staple, and the brand is today part of the Gallo portfolio.

The tasting room looks across rolling vine rows toward Islay Hill and the volcanic peaks that frame the valley, a few minutes from San Luis Obispo and among the most scenic stops in the appellation. Chardonnay remains the calling card, joined by Pinot Noir and other cool-climate bottlings from one of California's coolest AVAs, where Pacific air pours through the Los Osos gap all season long.
