About Evan's Ranch
Evan's Ranch is the cool-climate side of the Gainey family story. Farming the Santa Ynez Valley for over sixty years, the Gaineys acquired this Sta. Rita Hills site in 1997 as the marine-influenced complement to their warmer Home Ranch in the east valley, naming it for Dan Gainey's great-grandfather. Just ten miles from the Pacific, the estate's fog and ocean breezes are tailor-made for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
The wines are deliberately scarce: standout lots of just 100 to 400 cases each, sustainably grown and 100 percent estate, sold only through the wine club, the tasting room and the web store. Flights pour either the Evan's Ranch estate lineup or the family's Gainey Estate wines.
The tasting room sits steps from the heart of Los Olivos on Grand Avenue, with a relaxed patio, local gourmet goods and daily walk-in-friendly hours; plan on a leisurely 60 to 70 minutes for a seated flight.
