Heart and Hands Wine Company is a certified sustainable boutique winery perched on a rare thread of limestone bedrock overlooking the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake. Founded by Tom and Susan Higgins, the estate produces fewer than 2,000 cases per year, allowing for an intense focus on quality that has made it one of the most respected small producers in the Finger Lakes. The winery is dedicated almost exclusively to Pinot Noir and Riesling, two varietals that thrive in the region's cool climate and mineral-rich soils, and every grape is hand-picked from the estate vineyard without the use of machinery.
The tasting room is warm and intimate, offering a Signature Tasting of five wines guided by a knowledgeable wine educator, as well as an immersive UTV Vineyard Tour led by Susan Higgins herself through the estate's certified sustainable vineyards. The portfolio extends beyond the flagship varietals to include traditional-method sparkling wines, Chardonnay, and an adventurous Esoteric series featuring rare grapes like Aligote, Petite Arvine, Lagrein, and Auxerrois that push the boundaries of Finger Lakes winemaking.
