About Holocene Wines
Holocene is the personal Pinot Noir and Chardonnay project of winemaker Todd Alexander, who built his early career at Bryant Family Vineyard in Napa Valley before relocating to the Pacific Northwest to partner with Force Majeure Vineyards. Holocene released its first vintage in 2015, focused entirely on exploring the Willamette Valley outside Portland, Oregon, sourcing from a handful of small, dry-farmed vineyards including MonksGate in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
Catalog note: Holocene is an Oregon winery, not a Napa Valley producer, despite carrying a Napa Valley mailing address in some listings. The wines are made using low-impact, native-yeast techniques carried over from Alexander's Napa training, but the fruit, vineyards, and winemaking all take place in the Willamette Valley.
