About HUNNICUTT Wines
HUNNICUTT Wines was founded by Justin Hunnicutt Stephens, who left a commercial real estate career to pursue winemaking after working at Miner Family Winery, Saddleback Cellars, Venge Vineyards, and Seavey Vineyards. The label released its first commercial vintage in 2002, and the winery has operated since 2008 from a 15-acre property at 3524 Silverado Trail North, roughly midway between St. Helena and Calistoga on the east side of the valley.
Winemaker Kirk Venge has crafted every HUNNICUTT vintage since inception, sourcing Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay from premium vineyard sites across Napa Valley and Sonoma County rather than estate-owned land. The property's 18,000-square-foot hillside cave, completed in 2011, also operates as a custom-crush facility for other boutique producers, and the winery makes companion labels COLLATERAL and D.R. Stephens.
