About John Anthony Vineyards
John Anthony Vineyards was founded by John Anthony Truchard, whose parents, Tony and Jo Ann Truchard, helped pioneer Napa's Carneros district by planting grapes there in 1974. John and his wife Michele released their inaugural vintage in 2003 and opened their first tasting room in downtown Napa in July 2010; the current Tasting Lounge sits at 1440 First Street, adjacent to the Andaz Hotel.
The winery draws fruit primarily from cooler southern Napa Valley sites, Carneros, Coombsville, and Oak Knoll District, along with other designated vineyards such as Epps, Crane, and Twisted Oak. Winemakers Alison Doran and later Rob Lloyd shaped the program over the years; the portfolio spans an AVA Series, Single Vineyard and Reserve tiers, and an occasional single-barrel bottling called 'The One' produced only in exceptional vintages.
