About Keuka Spring Vineyards
Keuka Spring Vineyards is a family-owned estate on the eastern hillside of Keuka Lake, in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes. Founders Len and Judy Wiltberger purchased 30 acres overlooking the lake and planted their first vines in 1981, opening the tasting room with their debut vintage in 1985 on the conviction that Keuka Lake could produce world-class wine.
The vineyard benefits from the lake's moderating effect on temperature and from well-drained, shale-rich soils that give the wines their distinct character. Keuka Spring has become one of the region's most decorated producers, a multiple Governor's Cup winner for the best wine in New York State and a two-time Best White Wine in America honoree, with its Riesling drawing particular acclaim.
The hillside tasting room offers panoramic views of Keuka Lake and the Bluff, with Adirondack chairs, picnic-friendly grounds, and a welcoming, dog-friendly atmosphere. The estate plantings have grown over the decades to include Cabernet Franc, Lemberger, and Gewürztraminer alongside the original Chardonnay, Riesling, and Vignoles.
