About Kingman Estates Winery
Kingman Estates Winery began with a dream to put Colorado wine on par with the world's great wine regions. Douglas and Karen Kingman started it in 2011 in the Palisade and Grand Junction area, then relocated the winery to Denver in August 2012, where they process Palisade grapes each fall with the help of family, friends, and volunteers.
Nearly every wine is made from Colorado grapes grown in the Grand Valley around Palisade, and the whole process, from crush to cork, happens in-house at the Denver winery. The lineup runs from Riesling, Viognier, and Chardonnay to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel, plus reserve bottlings and the popular Marv'lous and Nefarious Red blends. Open on weekend afternoons, Kingman is known for affordable tastings, an approachable wine club, and a hands-on, community feel that invites guests to help with bottling.
Hours, tasting fees, and reservation policies change with the season, so it is worth checking the winery's website or calling ahead before you visit, especially on weekends. The details on this profile may have shifted since publication, and the producer is always the most authoritative source.
A dream to put Colorado wine on par with the world's great regions.
