Korbel Champagne Cellars is California's oldest méthode champenoise producer — and one of the most historically significant wine properties in the state. Founded in 1882 by Czech immigrant brothers Francis, Anton, and Joseph Korbel, the winery was built on a remote redwood-forested hillside above the Russian River that the brothers were simultaneously logging.

The historic redwood buildings and ivy-covered stone walls that visitors see today date to the 1880s and create one of the most atmospheric winery settings in Northern California. The famous deli (open seasonally), antique shop, and rose garden — containing over 250 varieties — are unique attractions that make Korbel a destination beyond just the sparkling wine.

Korbel California Champagne has appeared at every Presidential Inauguration since Reagan's 1981 ceremony — a tradition the winery continues to honor.
