About Le Vin Winery & Vineyards
Le Vin Winery and Vineyards is the oldest existing estate winery in the Yorkville Highlands appellation, its hillside terraces rising from 1,550 to 1,900 feet above sea level in the southernmost reach of Mendocino County. The organically grown estate produces gold-medal Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc, including the unusual Sauvignon Musque clone that marries Sauvignon Blanc's freshness with Muscat aromatics.
Owners Eric and Holly have made the property a small world of its own: alongside the terraced vines, Eric, a master gardener, planted some 250 olive trees whose fruit becomes estate organic extra virgin olive oil, poured at tastings beside the wines with bread and local products. Cellar visits and barrel tastings deepen the appointment-led experience, and the family connection runs further still, with son Jesse Hall of neighboring SEAWOLF Wines managing the family vineyard.
Tastings are by appointment in a wine garden with panoramic views over the Yorkville Highlands toward Anderson Valley, with sunset light that regular visitors plan around; guests receive directions and a gate code on booking. An on-site inn overlooking the vines, with a pool, hot tub and steam room, makes it possible to simply stay on the mountain.
