About Lokoya Winery
Lokoya is an ultra-premium, mountain-focused Cabernet Sauvignon label founded in 1995 by Jess Jackson, now part of Jackson Family Wines. Its estate and hospitality center are at 3787 Spring Mountain Road in St. Helena, on a property with a layered ownership history, purchased by Fred Aves in 1965 as Yverdon Vineyard, later renamed Terra Valentine (1996-2013) by Angus and Margaret Wurtele, before Jackson Family Wines took over.
Winemaker Chris Carpenter, who has led Lokoya since 2000 and also oversees sibling labels Cardinale, La Jota and Mt. Brave, crafts four separate, 100% varietal Cabernet Sauvignons each vintage, from Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain District and Mount Veeder, fermented with native yeast and bottled unfined and unfiltered from vineyards at 1,000 to 2,100 feet elevation.
