About Long Meadow Ranch Anderson Valley

Long Meadow Ranch Anderson Valley is the Mendocino outpost of the Hall family's celebrated Napa Valley ranch operation, built around a 69-acre estate vineyard in the deep end of Anderson Valley planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. With the Navarro River along its boundary and the Pacific close at hand, a natural marine layer blankets the vines, letting these Burgundian varieties ripen slowly to the peak of their character.

The farming follows the family's full-circle organic philosophy, in which vineyards, olive orchards, gardens and livestock all contribute to the health of the whole, with every crop certified organic. The Anderson Valley wines, an elegant Chardonnay, estate Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, join the family's Napa Cabernets in a portfolio defined by restraint and food friendliness.

The tasting room, opened in 2018, sits within The Madrones in Philo, the valley's Mediterranean-style compound of shops, tasting rooms and lodging. Instead of a bar, seated tastings happen family style at a big wooden table or on the sofa, pairing four wines from the Anderson Valley and Napa estates, with estate organic olive oil tastings and even Stumptown espresso drinks alongside. Reservations are recommended, with walk-ins seated as space allows.
