About Mount Eden Vineyards
Mount Eden descends directly from Martin Ray, the visionary and volatile pioneer who brought true Burgundian and Bordelais estate winemaking to a Saratoga mountaintop in the 1940s; the estate's Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet vines carry some of California's oldest fine-wine genetics, the famed Mount Eden clone among them. Jeffrey and Ellie Patterson stewarded the estate for four decades of quiet, uncompromising excellence.
The estate Chardonnay ranks among California's longest-lived whites, the Cabernet among its most Bordeaux-souled reds, all from a 2,000-foot vineyard island in the sky. History, altitude and patience in every bottle.
