About Munselle Vineyards

Munselle Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery in the Alexander Valley whose roots in the region are remarkably deep: the Munselle family arrived more than 130 years ago, in 1876, with a vision of making fine wine from the valley's rich soils, and they have farmed grapes there across six generations ever since.

For much of that time they grew fruit for others; in 2006, Bill and Bret Munselle closed the circle and returned to winemaking under the Munselle Vineyards label. The wines are estate-grown from the family's Geyserville-area ranches, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay lead the way, alongside Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel, handpicked and crafted to showcase the terroir the family knows better than almost anyone.

Tastings are intimate and by appointment only, and the emphasis is squarely on hospitality: guests are welcomed warmly by the owners themselves and treated less like customers than like part of the family, with a tasting room and outdoor space set among the vineyards they've tended for well over a century.
