Parley Lake Winery

Parley Lake Winery was established in 2008 at Deardorff Orchards and Vineyards by Lin and Bonnie Deardorff and Steve and Deb Zeller. Named for the lake adjacent to the property, the winery grows seven acres of cold-hardy grapes including Marquette, Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, and La Crescent, all varieties developed by the University of Minnesota's renowned breeding program. The results speak for themselves: Parley Lake has accumulated more than 50 gold medals in international wine competitions, a record that would be impressive for any winery and is remarkable for one in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. A bartender at the winery reportedly said they can spot west coast wine snobs from a mile away, often dragged out by more open-minded family members, and that those skeptics leave with a smile and a case in their car.

Co-owner Deb Zeller displays her artwork in a gallery downstairs alongside several other statewide artists, and outdoor sculptures dot the grounds. Parley Lake is part of the Waconia wine cluster alongside Schram Vineyards and Sovereign Estate, making it easy to visit all three in a single afternoon.
