PEJU Winery has welcomed visitors to its Rutherford estate since the early 1980s. The distinctive tower, landscaped gardens, vineyard views and colorful art create a classic Highway 29 stop with a friendly, less restrictive hospitality style. The estate is family-owned and led by the founders' daughters, maintaining continuity while expanding the culinary and event program.
The portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, blends and the popular Province wine, along with library and single-vineyard selections. The Taster's Trio provides a short introduction, while the Classic and Heritage tastings offer broader or more red-focused flights. Food-driven reservations pair estate wines with dishes prepared by the winery's culinary team.
PEJU is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcomed when space permits, particularly for the Taster's Trio, while reservations secure a seated experience. Current options include the $40 trio, $65 Classic Tasting, $85 Heritage Tasting, seasonal vineyard tours and a $165 Chef's Tasting. Sunday food programs and evening events add seasonal reasons to return.
The gardens, art and tower make PEJU enjoyable for guests who want visual interest beyond the flight. Selected experiences welcome visitors under 21, but family access is not universal. Groups of eight to twelve use a separate large-group reservation, and special events can alter normal patio access.
PEJU works well for first-time Napa visitors, mixed-interest groups and travelers who appreciate a walk-in option. Choose the Trio for a brief stop, a seated tasting for more guidance or the Chef's experience when food is central. Confirm age rules for the specific reservation and review the current seasonal calendar before relying on evening or Sunday programs.
