About Restoration Vineyards
Restoration Vineyards is a family-owned estate on East Orchard Mesa in Palisade, above the Colorado River, that Gary and Linda Brauns bought in 2012 and lovingly brought back to life. The name says it plainly: this was a vineyard restored. In 2024 the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology named it Colorado Winery of the Year.
The 10-acre property is surrounded by peach and cherry orchards with sweeping views of the Grand Mesa and Book Cliffs. Six varieties, planted starting in 2007, go into small-lot wines, including a Merlot aged four years in French oak, an off-dry rose of Grenache, a bright Barbera, a white field blend, and a sparkling rose that stands out in the valley. Just as notable is the hospitality: a courtyard within the vines, a weekly concert series, and a level of service guests compare to a spa.
