About Robert Young Estate Winery
Robert Young Estate Winery is one of the most historically significant and continuously farmed family estates in the Alexander Valley. The Young family first settled the Geyserville-area property in 1858 — five generations of continuous agricultural heritage on the same Alexander Valley land that now produces some of the appellation's finest Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Young family's viticultural significance extends beyond their own estate: the Robert Young Vineyard Chardonnay — sourced from estate blocks and made by celebrated winemakers including Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and others over the decades — helped establish Alexander Valley Chardonnay as a serious Californian white wine address. The Scion Chardonnay and Annette's Reserve Chardonnay (named for family matriarch Annette Young) are the estate's most celebrated expressions, consistently earning 90–95 point recognition.
Sonoma County Tourism specifically names Robert Young as one of the 'notable wineries' of the Alexander Valley alongside Medlock Ames, Soda Rock, and Stonestreet. The Red Winery Road location above the valley floor offers sweeping Alexander Valley views alongside five-generation family farming hospitality that no newer Alexander Valley producer can replicate.
