About Roudon-Smith Winery
Roudon-Smith is Santa Cruz Mountains heritage: engineers Bob Roudon and Jim Smith left tech careers in 1972 to found one of the modern appellation's earliest wineries, building a loyal following for mountain Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel through the region's formative decades.
The two-family partnership embodied the appellation's engineer-to-vintner origin story, and the name still carries founding-era respect. The mountains' first modern wave, bottled.
