About Sapphire Hill Winery
Sapphire Hill is a family-run boutique winery that has been handcrafting limited-production wines in Sonoma County since 1989. It began as a 38-acre vineyard just outside Sebastopol, named for the sapphire-blue hue the night sky takes on as the sun sets behind the coastal range; since 2001 it has operated as a winery and tasting room in Healdsburg, a town at the crossroads of three legendary growing areas, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley.
The result is a broad, small-lot portfolio of more than twenty wines drawn from small vineyards across those AVAs and Rockpile: dry Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and an array of Bordeaux reds and signature blends like Cinque Gemma and Cabochon, plus five sparkling wines under its Glee brand. Around 2,000 cases a year keep it personal.
The Healdsburg tasting room, a longtime fixture of the historic Old Roma Station, offers bar tastings, private barrel-room experiences and weekend food-and-wine pairings, famously finishing with a chocolate brownie and salted caramel.
