About Schram Vineyards Winery & Brewery
Schram Vineyards has been voted Minnesota's Best Winery and Best View by the Star Tribune Reader's Choice survey multiple years running, and both distinctions are earned. Founded in 2008 by Aaron and Ashley Schram in the rolling hills of Waconia, about 30 minutes west of Minneapolis, the winery has grown from a family dream into one of the state's premier wine destinations. In 2014, Schram became the first singly owned and operated combined winery and brewery in Minnesota, adding Schram Haus Brewery to the already strong wine program. The winery has since expanded with the addition of Bonfire and Barrel, a full restaurant offering chef-driven comfort food, craft beer, a cocktail bar, and a relaxed yet elevated atmosphere. The redesigned tasting room, gift shop, and stylish new entrance have transformed the property into a true destination campus.
The wine program remains the anchor: handcrafted Minnesota wines made on-site, served through guided tastings, wine and cheese pairings, blending workshops, and library wine experiences in the cellar. The lineup includes bold reds, crisp whites, and a signature line of Minnesota sparkling wines. Live music fills the tasting room on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, and the vineyard's bocce courts, outdoor pavilion, and lake-view patios make it easy to spend an entire afternoon. The Schram family still lives by the vineyard with their children and their dog Woody, maintaining the personal touch that keeps visitors returning season after season.
