Solo Nostro

Solo Nostro, Italian for "ours alone," is the personal label of fourth-generation Sonoma winemaker Ted Seghesio and his wife, Dana. After 39 years shaping his family's Seghesio Family Vineyards, Ted stepped away in 2018 and was not sure he would ever make wine again. In 2021 the couple quietly began Solo Nostro, and in 2025 they opened their first tasting room. Ted named his return Zinfandel Fenice, the Italian word for phoenix.

The name captures the scale and spirit of the project: this is genuinely just the two of them. Ted makes the wine and Dana runs the business and designs the labels, and production is kept deliberately small, around 400 to 500 cases a year, drawn from small lots of fruit sourced from growers Ted has known for decades.

The wines honor Ted's roots. His great-grandfather Edoardo emigrated from Dogliani in Italy's Piedmont in 1886, and the lineup pairs Old World varietals with New World polish: a benchmark Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, a Rockpile Primitivo, a Rhone-style white, and a small-lot rose from a historic block on the family's Cortina Vineyard.

You will find Solo Nostro at Bacchus Landing, a collective of boutique tasting rooms just minutes from downtown Healdsburg, at the crossroads of the Dry Creek, Russian River, and Alexander valleys. Tastings are by appointment, and the setting adds an open-air piazza, bocce courts, and weekend wood-fired pizza to the visit.
