Soter Vineyards — Yamhill-Carlton AVA Winery & Tasting Room

Tony Soter arrived in the Willamette Valley with one of the most impressive credentials in American winemaking — decades of consulting work and winemaking at Spottswoode, Dalla Valle, Niebaum-Coppola, and other prestigious California estates before establishing his own Oregon project in 1997. Soter Vineyards represents his commitment to a specific vision of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir: biodynamic farming, minimal intervention, and wines that age.

The North Valley estate in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA was planted with this long view in mind. The Mineral Springs Ranch, the estate's primary site, is farmed biodynamically and produces Pinot Noirs that reward patience — they can seem tight and austere on release and open to revealing complexity over 8–15 years in the cellar.

Soter also produces a traditional-method sparkling wine, Soter Estates Brut Rosé, from estate Pinot Noir. It is one of Oregon's most distinguished sparkling wines — complex, persistent, and showing the kind of character that only comes from old estate vines and extended time on the lees. Production is very limited and largely sold through the winery's mailing list.
