About Spring Mountain Vineyard
Spring Mountain Vineyard combines four historic 19th-century ranches on Spring Mountain, most notably the 1885 Miravalle estate and its Victorian mansion, which served as the exterior set for the 1980s primetime drama Falcon Crest. The estate's 1973 Chardonnay placed fourth at the 1976 Judgment of Paris tasting that put Napa Valley on the world wine map.
The property changed hands several times and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2022; private equity firm MGG Investment Group acquired the estate at auction in 2023 for $42 million and is now funding a roughly $100 million restoration, including a full replant across 225 acres of hillside vineyard and a rebuilt winery.
