A Judgment of Paris finisher, Spring Mountain's 1973 Chardonnay placed fourth in the historic 1976 tasting that first proved Napa Valley wine could compete with, and beat, top French labels.

A library stretching back to 1979, decades of held-back vintages let visitors taste wines going back to the estate's earliest releases, a rarity even by Napa Valley standards.
