About Storrs Winery Old Sash Mill Tasting Room

This is where Storrs began. The winery started its winemaking operations at the historic Old Sash Mill in 1988 and opened its first tasting room in the same rustic artisan complex, and the room is still going in a building full of workshops and makers rather than hospitality suites.

It is a small space, which regulars tend to mention approvingly, and it keeps a longer week than the estate winery down in Corralitos.

The wines come from small, family-owned vineyards across the Santa Cruz Mountains, hand-harvested and sustainably farmed. The focus falls on the varieties that suit a cool, ocean-influenced climate, above all Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, alongside old-vine Zinfandel, Grenache and Petite Sirah from the Mount Madonna district.

The other Storrs site, on Pleasant Valley Road in Corralitos, is a different proposition: a winery set into a former quarry above the organically farmed Hidden Springs estate vineyard. It opened in 2018 and is listed separately in this catalog.

The original 1988 room, still in an artisan mill complex, still pouring mountain fruit.
