About The Mountain Winery
The Mountain Winery is one of California wine's great landmarks: the hilltop estate above Saratoga founded by Paul Masson, the Burgundy-born pioneer of the state's wine industry. Today the property preserves that legacy - the historic winery building, vineyard-wrapped grounds, and sweeping views across the Silicon Valley floor - while adding a second claim to fame as one of the Bay Area's most beloved concert destinations.
Wine tasting runs Friday through Sunday from noon to 5 with no reservations needed - first come, first poured - making it one of the few drop-in tasting experiences in the Saratoga hills. Backstage and historic tours dig into the Masson story, and the on-site box office opens Saturdays during tasting hours.
Summer belongs to the Concert Series: an intimate 2,500-seat outdoor amphitheater set against the old winery facade, hosting national acts with dining, luxury suites, and the Overlook lounge. The estate's Chateau Deck, Grand Hall, and gardens also make it a marquee wedding and corporate venue. Call (408) 741-2822 for property info and check the calendar before show nights.
